In addition to Monday night's forecast cut, multinational European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has also warned customers of delays to passenger aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2025 and 2026, Bloomberg News reports, citing sources.
Airbus's warnings to its customers are signs of problems beyond yesterday's forecast cut for the full year 2024. The delays at Airbus are due to supply chain shortcomings, which caused shares of both Airbus and several suppliers to fall on Tuesday.
The passenger aircraft may not be delivered until several months after what is stated in the contracts, according to Bloomberg News sources.
Airbus shares closed Tuesday's trading down 9.4 percent, but continued to fall another just over 3 percent on Wednesday.
