A man has been caught trying to smuggle over 100 live snakes – in his pants.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the traveler was stopped by customs at the border into the Shenzhen region from Hong Kong, according to Chinese customs.

During an inspection, customs officers discovered that the traveler had filled his pockets with six tied and taped cloth bags.

”"When the bags were opened, they were found to contain live snakes of all shapes, sizes and colors," according to a statement.

A total of 104 snakes were found, several of which do not occur naturally in the country.

China is one of the world's largest hubs for animal trafficking, but authorities have cracked down on the illegal trade in recent years.

It is still unclear what punishment awaits the man.
