Norwegian airline Norwegian reports a pre-tax profit of 477 million Norwegian kroner for the second quarter of the year. This is an 11 percent drop in profit compared to the profit in the corresponding quarter a year earlier, which was 538 million.

However, revenue during the quarter rose by 36 percent to 9.35 billion Norwegian kroner, up from 6.87 billion.

Norwegian lowered its profit forecast for the full year 2024 to an operating profit of 2.1-2.6 billion Norwegian kroner ahead of its interim report. The company cited weak demand for air travel, large salary increases for pilots, more expensive fuel, delayed aircraft deliveries from Boeing and negative currency effects.
