Sweden's oldest civil airport opened in 1934 and celebrates its 90th anniversary this weekend. On Sunday, September 15, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Norrköping Airport will open its gates to the airport and welcome everyone who is curious to Airport Day.
Of course, there will be several aircraft on site, such as the DC-3 Daisy, NAFK's aircraft which is also celebrating its 100th anniversary, the glider club's aircraft and the Pitts S2. Zackaroff Aviation will take the Pitts S2 and show off advanced maneuvers in a smoke-filled display with both high and low passages. The double-decker is known for its appearance and is one of the world's most famous aircraft types when it comes to air shows. At 11:00 and 13:30 visitors can enjoy the show.
In addition to airplanes, there are helicopters on site that, for a cost of 500 SEK/person, will take those who want to take the opportunity to take a tour around the city.
For the children, there are plenty of popular mascots on site. Lollo & Bernie have a mini disco three times during the day, Mino teaches dance moves and Bamse is happy to hug those who want it.
