Members of Boeing's largest union voted against a proposed contract on Wednesday and will therefore continue the strike that has been going on for five weeks.

Reuters reports.

The proposal involved salary increases of 35 percent over four years, but was voted down by 64 percent of the members.

The union also stated that they were ready to resume negotiations with Boeing.

”After ten years of sacrifice, we still have lost ground to regain, and we hope to do so through resumed negotiations soon,” leaders of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said in a statement.
