Japanese train staff to be equipped with knife-proof umbrellas

After a series of knife attacks aboard Japanese trains, one of the country's largest train operators is introducing new procedures for its staff.

In order to safely evacuate their passengers, train staff will be equipped with knife-proof umbrellas that will be folded up as shields in the event of attacks, writes Japan Today.
