The seven-week strike by factory workers at American Boeing is over. The union has accepted the employer's new offer through a vote.

After a vote early Tuesday morning, Swedish time, the union approved the employer's new offer. 59 percent of those affiliated with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union who work at Boeing voted yes.

The strike has been going on for almost two months, since September 13. In total, around 33,000 factory workers have been called out on strike.

The union has voted down the employer's proposal several times before. A main reason is said to be the company's refusal to reinstate a scrapped pension plan, reports AP. The strike has hit Boeing hard, which is estimated to lose up to a billion dollars a month.
