Maryhill Estate is now opening after several years of renovation, conceptualization, construction and an investment of nearly 400 million SEK.

Maryhill Estate – a place for gastronomy, spa, sports and exclusive experiences

Maryhill Estate consists of two unique parts – Hill House or Sugar Club – which together become the 8-hectare destination Maryhill.

Located in Glumslöv, between Landskrona and Helsingborg, Maryhill Estate offers a unique setting in one of Sweden’s most beautiful regions. Here, amidst rolling rapeseed fields, ESS Group now opens the doors to a destination that has been created for both Swedish and international guests to enjoy a new level of hotel experiences.

Hill House – a place of historic elegance

Hill House is the former Örenäs Castle and here the beautiful castle environment has been carefully renovated to preserve its charm and history. This part of the Maryhill Estate gives guests the opportunity to experience an atmosphere of refined elegance. Directly adjacent to Hill House, guests can relax by a large infinity pool with views of the beautiful castle park, the sparkling sea and the iconic island of Ven. Activities such as boules, croquet and archery are available adjacent to Hill House.

Sugar Club – a modern resort experience

On Sugar Club, which forms the resort part of the Maryhill Estate, guests experience a completely different dimension. Here there is a large and inviting pool club and spa with three pools, 147 newly renovated rooms, as well as a selection of restaurants and bars to cater for both partying, relaxation and gastronomic experiences. Pool tables, ping pong and shuffle board are of course part of the experience here. This part of the estate offers a newly laid tennis court, two paddle courts, a large gym and a meeting and event venue that can accommodate up to 400 people.

“The first time we drove past the then Örenäs Slott and started dreaming was in 2011 and today is the time! Maryhill Estate and today's opening is the result of the hard work of an incredible number of talented employees and we are proud, excited and happy. We are so looking forward to welcoming our first guests to our dream project. This is definitely the most extensive and ambitious thing we have done since the start of Ystad Saltsjöbad and it feels great to be able to offer both Swedish and international guests a place where they can enjoy food, drink, history, nature, sports, music, spa, exclusive comfort and modern meeting facilities - all in one place,” says Jonas Stenberg, CEO at ESS Group.

An international destination for both meetings and relaxation

Maryhill Estate is not only a place for relaxation, but also an ideal destination for both meetings and conferences. Interest from both companies and international weddings has already exceeded expectations and several dates for 2025 are fully booked. Danish guests account for a larger proportion of guests than initially forecast.

A food destination to discover for everyone

Robert ”Bobbo” Nilsson is the CEO of Maryhill and has a solid gastronomic background as Chef of the Year, Chef of the Chefs and Nobel Banquet. Along with his international experiences from Sri Lanka, Dubai and China, Maryhill Estate also has the ambition to become a food destination for both local and international audiences.

”"Finally we are opening! The team of chefs led by Martin Hansen is something truly special – and together we hope to reach food lovers from all over Sweden and eventually also outside Scandinavia. It will be a nice mix of tradition and innovation where guests will recognize themselves but also be surprised. You absolutely must not miss Martin's triple-fried fries with our very own spice blend"”, says Robert ”Bobbo” Nilsson, CEO of Maryhill Estate.
