Boeing to lay off over 2,500 employees in the US

Boeing will lay off more than 2,500 employees in the United States, Reuters reports. The layoffs are part of the company's plan to lay off a total of 17,000 employees globally, representing 10 percent of its total workforce.

The affected workers are located in the states of Washington, Oregon, South Carolina and Missouri. The majority of the layoffs will affect Washington. The laid-off workers will remain at Boeing's payroll until January 17th.
