The Dragon Gate hotel complex on the E4 in Älvkarleby has a new owner.
Dragon Gate, located at the exit to Älvkarleby, has been sold by the Sisyfos Group to Arosslätten properties.
According to a press release, there are plans to develop the land in various ways and give more players the opportunity to establish themselves there, such as gas stations and restaurants.
”"The hotel building with its constructions is fascinating and a magnet for interest. However, it requires a number of investments and preparations to be put into use for the public, which is an interim goal," writes Arosslätten CEO Lars-Gunnar Andersson in a comment.
It was in 2004 that businessman Li Jingchun bought an old hotel on the site, to transform it into ”China’s window to Sweden.” The area includes a large Chinese-style building and a large statue depicting a Buddhist saint.
The project has been plagued by work environment violations and delays and has changed owners several times.
