In November, just over 2.3 million passengers flew via Swedavia's airports, which is close to the 2023 levels overall. The trend of strong demand for international travel continues and is increasing by three percent. At the same time, both supply and demand for domestic travel are lower and domestic travel is decreasing by 12 percent. Several airlines are announcing investments in new traffic and new long-haul routes via Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which strengthens Swedish accessibility.
-We see a strong trend for international travel and it is very pleasing that several airlines are investing in new long-haul traffic via Arlanda. Norse Atlantic Airways is establishing itself at Arlanda and opening a new direct route to Bangkok for winter 2025 and ANA will begin flying Arlanda-Tokyo starting in January 2025. The investments strengthen both accessibility and Swedish competitiveness in the long term, says Jonas Abrahamsson, Swedavia's CEO and Group Chief Executive.

In November, just over 2.3 million passengers travelled via Swedavia's ten airports. International travel increased by three percent to just over 1.7 million passengers and domestic travel decreased by 12 percent to just over 614,000 passengers. Air travel in November is overall one percent lower compared to November 2023. Total travel via Swedavia's airports in November is at 78 percent of pre-pandemic levels, 2019.
Sweden's largest airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, had a total of just over 1.6 million passengers in November. This is at the same level as November last year. International travel increased by four percent to just over 1.3 million passengers, while domestic travel decreased by 15 percent to just over 248,000 passengers. Overall, passenger levels in November are at 86 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport had a total of just over 359,000 passengers during November. Travel in November is at the same level compared to November last year.
International travel increased by three percent to just over 315,000 travelers, while domestic travel decreased by 20 percent to just over 43,000 travelers. Traveler levels at Landvetter in November are at 75 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
Swedavia's other eight airports had a varied development during November. Umeå Airport, followed by Luleå Airport, had the strongest passenger development in November compared to November 2023. Ronneby Airport had the weakest development in November compared to November last year.
In November, Luleå Airport had the best passenger development of Swedavia's regional airports compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Overall, of Swedavia's airports, Arlanda has the best recovery compared to pre-pandemic levels.
