After an hour-long stop on Thursday, SJ trains are running again between Stockholm and Gothenburg.
At 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, traffic was back on track after an electrical fault in Laxå on New Year's Day, which was caused by ice formation on a contact line.
”"We are reinstating the express trains and running them as planned. However, we will be reversing our regional trains. They will run to both ends of the stops and then reverse," says SJ's press communicator Johannes Cleris.
The problematic section between Hallsberg and Töreboda is instead served by buses.
”"The ice is still there and it has to be chopped manually. There are no machines that can help us here," says Katarina Wolffram at the Swedish Transport Administration.
At 2 p.m., delays also occurred in train traffic between Stockholm and Malmö after unauthorized persons entered the track area between Hässleholm and Alvesta.
At 3 p.m. on Thursday, the Swedish Transport Administration had no forecast for when traffic could resume as usual on any of the routes.
