Police in South Korea have raided the offices of both Jeju Air and the company that operates Muan Airport, following the December plane crash that killed 179 people. The airline's CEO Kim Lee-bae has also been banned from leaving the country, Yonhap reports.
On Thursday, police conducted house searches at several locations in connection with the fatal plane crash that occurred in Muan, South Korea, on December 29. Among other things, raids were carried out at the airport in Muan, at a regional aviation office in Muan, and at Jeju Air's headquarters in the capital Seoul.
”"The police plan to quickly and rigorously determine the cause and responsibility for the accident in accordance with the law," the police said in a statement.
Jeju Air CEO Kim Yi-bae has been banned from leaving the country, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
181 people were on board the aircraft when it experienced landing problems and crashed into a concrete wall. Only two crew members survived the crash.
