The latest statistics from business and credit information company UC show that the number of corporate bankruptcies decreased by 19 percent in January compared to the same period last year. After a year of roller coaster business bankruptcies, signs of improvement are now being noted. UC notes a decrease in bankruptcies in the construction sector, where the number of bankruptcies decreased by 15 percent. In the retail sector, bankruptcies decreased by 8 percent. The hotel and restaurant industry also showed a decrease in bankruptcies by 18 percent.

According to the latest statistics from UC, the number of bankruptcies in January decreased by 19 percent compared to the same month last year.

While the number of business bankruptcies is decreasing, there is also an increase in new business start-ups. The number of new businesses increased by 2 percent in January 2025 compared to the same period the previous year.

The construction sector has now seen a decrease in bankruptcies for six consecutive months, and the number of bankruptcies in the sector has decreased by 15 percent.

In retail, an industry that had high bankruptcy rates in 2024, the number of bankruptcies decreased by 8 percent.
