The Swedish railway's old signalling system is to be replaced by a new, common EU system, which will reduce signal errors and the delays they cause., reports SR Ekot.

The expansion has been slow, but the government has promised more money and is open to train companies receiving support for new equipment.

"Signalling failures must be part of the story," says Minister for Infrastructure Andreas Carlsson (KD) to Ekot.
