Three popular Stockholm hotels are now ready to welcome their guests after extensive renovations. The lakeside Scandic Alvik, the panoramic Scandic Sjöfartshotellet and the iconic Scandic Malmen. Three different styles with a common ambition: to create a place where people feel comfortable, meet and want to return to.

To be an attractive choice for guests and customers today and tomorrow, Scandic continuously evaluates its investments in both new and existing hotels. In close collaboration with property owners, upgrades, expansions and renovations are carried out on an ongoing basis, as well as the development of functionality and design. Always with a focus on sustainability, in both construction and operation, and with the goal of meeting guests' high expectations and creating the hotel experiences of the future.
Now Scandic Alvik, Scandic Sjöfartshotellet and Scandic Malmen have undergone extensive transformations and are ready to welcome their guests for the summer season.
Scandic Malmen – an iconic lift in the middle of Södermalm
The renovation of all rooms has been ongoing for 1.5 years. The entire entrance floor has been upgraded, including new restaurants and bars. The existing property has been expanded with 23 new rooms, increasing the number of rooms from 332 rooms to 355. Scandic Malmen, an iconic hotel located in the heart of Södermalm, has now been given new life and invites you to a vibrant, natural meeting place for both residents and visitors. Whether you are here for a weekend, a night out or a coffee in the lounge, Scandic Malmen is an obvious choice in Södermalm.
Scandic Sjöfartshotellet – with the city and the water in the spotlight
All rooms have been renovated and the hotel has been expanded with 13 new rooms. The restaurant and bar have also been renovated, and the rooftop bar, which offers fantastic views over the water towards Stadsgården and Djurgården, has been rebuilt. An optimal place for those who want to explore Stockholm's streets and islands.
Scandic Alvik – a green, city-close respite
All rooms and bathrooms have been renovated, and the entrance floor has been completely upgraded with a new restaurant and bar. Here you live close to nature with greenery right outside your door, and you can easily get to the city with the metro and the cross-city train, which are around the corner.
– Our renovations are an important part of ensuring that we always have a relevant and attractive hotel offering. All three hotels have been renovated based on their personal character and requirements and offer their own feel and environment – with proximity to Stockholm city centre. Through our investments, we hope to be able to give our guests new, inspiring experiences to remember, says Peter Jangbratt, COO at Scandic Sweden.
