During the month of July, travel continues to increase via Swedavia's ten airports. Just over three million passengers travelled via Swedavia's ten airports during the month, which corresponds to an increase of two percent compared to July 2024.
Demand for both international and domestic travel remains high. International travel increased by two percent. Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Gothenburg Landvetter Airport report high passenger volumes. Malmö Airport also had strong international development during the month.
Domestic traffic increased by seven percent, with particularly strong development at Umeå Airport, Luleå Airport and Kiruna Airport. Ronneby Airport also recorded an increase, while airports in other parts of Sweden showed a more subdued development.
To meet the increased travel demand, 15 new flight routes were launched during the summer – nine from Arlanda and six from Landvetter – including new charter destinations such as Lamezia Terme, Skiathos and Monastir.

In July, just over 3.3 million passengers travelled through Swedavia's airports, which is 88 percent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019 and an increase of two percent compared to July the previous year. International travel increased by two percent, while domestic travel increased by seven percent. Domestic travel is overall at 57 percent of pre-pandemic levels, while international travel is at 96 percent of 2019 levels.
In July, a total of just over 2.4 million passengers travelled through Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport. This is an increase of four percent compared to July 2024 and 97 percent of pre-pandemic levels. International travel increased by one percent and domestic travel increased by 28 percent. Just under 2.2 million travelled internationally while just over 254,000 travelled domestically.
A total of just over 610,000 passengers travelled through Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Sweden's second largest airport, in July. This is an increase of two percent compared to travel in July 2024. International travel increased by two percent to just over 581,000 passengers. Domestic travel decreased by nine percent to just under 29,000 passengers. The total passenger levels for Landvetter in July were 89 percent compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The other eight Swedavia airports have a varying passenger development in July. Kiruna Airport accounted for the largest passenger increase, followed by Ronneby Airport and Luleå Airport. Both Åre Östersund Airport and Visby Airport accounted for a weaker passenger development compared to July 2024, while Bromma Stockholm Airport continues to have the weakest passenger development as a result of the airlines' new planning with a focus primarily on Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Åre Östersund Airport was closed for three weeks in July due to runway work.
