There will be no delivery of new sleeping and couchette cars for the night trains between Stockholm and upper Norrland - at least not initially.

The Swedish Transport Administration has not received any tenders that meet the requirements and has therefore chosen to cancel the procurement and start a new one later, reports P4 Västerbotten.

Some of the trains are between 30 and 40 years old and are to be replaced by 2030. A total of ten new locomotives and 91 new sleeping and couchette cars are needed, according to the radio.
