Over 100 hotel guests have become acutely ill at a luxury hotel in Spain, writes Norwegian Daily Paper. A suspected salmonella outbreak has spread among guests at the Izan Cavanna Hotel in La Manga. The outbreak reportedly began after lunch on Saturday, and at least 20 people were forced to seek hospital treatment for symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting.  

The number of victims was so high that local authorities set up a field hospital on the beach, while other guests were treated with IVs in their hotel rooms or in the corridors. The hotel in question has not yet commented on the incident.
