Scandic Hotels continues its expansion in Germany and has signed a long-term lease for its third hotel in central Hamburg. The hotel will be part of a comprehensive transformation of the area next to the main station into a vibrant district with offices, restaurants, event spaces and a hotel. The new hotel will offer up to 328 rooms and is expected to open in 2028.
The new hotel in central Hamburg will be in direct proximity to the city's bus terminal and several metro and commuter train lines. The project underlines Scandic's ambition to increase the hotel chain's total number of rooms by approx. 15,000 by 2030, including by expanding with precision in key German destinations.

Together with partner B&L Group – which is building the hotel and also owns the property where Scandic operates Scandic Frankfurt Hafenpark – the hotel chain will operate a hotel aimed at both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will complement the previously announced 430-room hotel that will be located near Berliner Tor, scheduled to open in 2030. Since 2008, there has also been the well-visited Scandic Emporio in Hamburg, which has 340 rooms.

In 2025, Scandic has announced plans to open eight new hotels with over 1,600 rooms across the Nordic region and Germany.
