Popular ski resort Sölden introduces alcohol ban.

As of December 1st, drinking alcohol in public places in Sölden will no longer be permitted. It will also be prohibited to carry alcohol in public places.

“More and more tourists are leaving bars to smoke and drink alcohol on the street. They then buy it at the grocery store. This causes unacceptable noise, broken beer glasses and other litter on the sidewalk,” says Sölden Mayor Maximilian Riml.

People who violate the new rule risk fines of up to SEK 22,000.
