Seville had 3 degrees Celsius this morning and Ankara in Turkey had only 1 degree.
– It's a bit upside down, you could say, says Lasse Rydkvist, meteorologist at Klart.
The unusually cold temperatures in the southern parts of Europe are due to the jet stream.
– It has a clear bend down towards the Iberian Peninsula and it is precisely when you get a clear bend south that really cold air can spread far down and then you get this cold air plume, says Lasse Rydkvist.
