Gothenburg has broken its own record for the number of overnight stays in a year. This is what the municipal tourism agency, Göteborg & Co, writes in a press release.

Over the year, tourists spent over six million guest nights in the city, generating 35 billion kronor for the tourism economy.

The previous record stood at just over 5.6 million guest nights in 2024.

– The first half of the 2020s has been challenging, to say the least, with an extremely turbulent global situation. Despite that, Gothenburg is in one of its strongest growth phases ever, says Peter Grönberg, CEO of Göteborg & Co in the press release.
