Planes are not allowed to take off from Greece

Air traffic to and from Greece was disrupted on Sunday morning after a technical fault in air traffic control, Greek media report.

The problem concerns the radio systems at the control centers in Athens and Macedonia, according to the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.

All departures from Greek airports have been suspended for the time being, while planes already in the air are allowed to land. The cause is being investigated and it is unclear when traffic will return to normal.
