The travel company Tui has flown home around 20 previously stranded Swedes in the past 24 hours.

– A number of Swedes have been flown home in the last 24 hours, says Dian Valencia, communications manager at Tui.

The Swedes who have returned home have not been on the same flight and have had to take different routes.

– There have been rebookings to alternative flights. People have come via Europe and then been able to continue on to Sweden, says Dian Valencia.

Around 40 travelers remain stranded in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
