The interest in traveling during the Easter holidays is high and is clearly visible in the booking statistics. According to the travel agency Ticket, bookings for the Easter holidays have increased by 17 percent compared to the same period last year. This shows that more and more people see Easter as a perfect opportunity to get away and have a break from everyday life.
– We see that many people are longing for time off and want to get away during Easter, preferably to destinations that provide a clear contrast to everyday life at home, says Tiyoneh Jah, PR and communications manager at Ticket.
Before Easter, it is mainly travel within Europe that attracts Swedes. Shorter travel times mean that vacations last longer, and many choose travel destinations where they can make the most of their time in the country. This means that destinations around the Mediterranean and popular big cities are high on the list.
– We see that it is mainly classic favorites on the top list this year. London has climbed significantly and taken first place as the most booked destination, while Gdansk has made it into the top ten most booked, which is an exciting development, says Tiyoneh Jah.
