Spring is here and the Easter holidays are approaching – and that is evident at Copenhagen Airport. During Easter week, a record 1.1 million travelers pass through the terminals, an increase of 7 percent compared to last year.
Many people take the opportunity to travel to Southern Europe or major cities. London, Paris and Madrid are the most popular metropolitan destinations in the spring, while Spain with Malaga, Barcelona and the Canary Islands are the most visited during Easter.
The airlines' summer traffic program starts on March 29 with direct routes to 175 destinations from Copenhagen. Peter Krogsgaard, commercial director at the airport, says that the many direct routes also make Denmark attractive to tourists: "A spring break in Copenhagen offers everything from food and museums to cycling culture and Nordic atmosphere."”
For travelers leaving Schengen, it is recommended to be there three hours before departure, and two hours for domestic or Schengen travel, as there may be queues at security and passport control.
