VIVA Cruises has christened its new river cruise ship VIVA BEYOND in Paris. The ship is the first in the shipping company's new VIVA Boutique concept, with the ambition of creating the feel of an exclusive floating boutique hotel.

The ship's godmother is Norwegian travel influencer Cecilie Kopperud, a choice that, according to VIVA Cruises, reflects the company's commitment to the growing Nordic market.

"To be godmother to VIVA BEYOND is a great honour. I see a very strong future for both VIVA Boutique and VIVA Cruises," says Cecilie Kopperud.

The award ceremony was held in Paris with around 160 guests from the travel industry and international media in attendance.

VIVA BEYOND will operate on the Seine year-round, offering cruises through Normandy with a focus on art, culture, and gastronomy. Routes include themes such as Impressionism, French culinary experiences, and cultural tours along the Seine.

The vessel has capacity for 112 guests across 56 cabins, half of which are suites. Onboard amenities include three restaurants, a wellness area, a sun deck with a pool, and a fine dining restaurant developed in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef David Görne.

– With VIVA BEYOND we are taking river cruises to the next level. We have placed an even greater focus on design, aesthetics, and experience, says Andrea Kruse, CEO and co-founder of VIVA Cruises.

The shipping company states that the Nordic region has become an increasingly important market in recent years. Today, up to 15 percent of guests come from the Nordic countries.

The next ship within the VIVA Boutique concept will be VIVA UNIQUE, which will operate on the river Po and the Venice lagoon.
