Continued increased demand for air travel despite an uncertain global situation, in parallel with increased commercial revenue, contributed to Swedavia's improved results during the second quarter.
“Despite the uncertain global situation, the number of passengers increased by almost three percent in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. Together with increased commercial revenue, this contributed to an improved operating profit compared to the corresponding period last year,” says Mats Johannesson, Swedavia's President and CEO.
The second quarter of the year in numbers
Net sales for the second quarter amounted to SEK 1,943 million (1,789), an increase of SEK 155 million. The quarter's operating profit amounted to SEK 222 million (178), an improvement of SEK 43 million compared to the corresponding quarter of 2025. During the second quarter of the year, approximately 9.2 million passengers traveled via Swedavia's ten airports. This is an increase of almost three percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
The number of international passengers increased by almost four percent, while domestic travel decreased by approximately one percent compared to the corresponding period last year. The route and destination offering continued to be strengthened, both via Swedavia's international and regional airports.
