Italy continues to top the list of the best food country to visit. At the same time, Swedes once again rank England as the country with the worst food. Travel agency Ticket's latest survey also shows that food and restaurant experiences are an important reason for traveling for many Swedes.
Food has become an increasingly important part of the holiday experience. According to the latest survey by travel agency Ticket, 33 percent of those planning to travel this year say that food and restaurant experiences are one of the main reasons for their trip. Meanwhile, almost four in ten Swedes, 39 percent, rank Italy as the best food country to visit.
– Italy has long been an obvious food destination and continues to attract travelers with everything from pasta and pizza to local delicacies and wine regions. At the same time, we see that food experiences play an increasingly important role when Swedes choose a travel destination. For many, food is an important part of the holiday experience and a way to discover the culture of the destination, says Louise Jellvi, Product Manager at Ticket.
Meanwhile, England once again receives a less flattering ranking. Swedes rank the country as having the worst food, just like in last year's survey.
