Ryanair has signed a collective agreement with the Swedish Transport Workers' Union for cabin crew at the airline's base at Arlanda. The agreement, which came into force on 1 September, regulates, among other things, wages, working hours, compensation, pensions and insurance.
The agreement is the result of several months of negotiations between Ryanair and Transport and covers cabin crew at the airline's Arlanda base.
Transport took over the cabin crew agreement area from Unionen in February 2025 and has since worked to get a collective agreement in place with Ryanair.
– This is historic news for Ryanair employees and an important success for the Swedish model. Since Transport took over the agreement area, the goal has been clear: Ryanair cabin crew in Sweden should have collective agreements, secure conditions and the opportunity to influence their working situation. Now we are there, says Transport's union chairman Tommy Wreeth.
Ryanair links the agreement to Sweden Investments
Ryanair welcomes the agreement and states that it will help support the company's investments and jobs in Sweden.
– We welcome this collective agreement with the Swedish Transport Workers' Union, which is the result of many months of intensive negotiations, says Ryanair's HR Director Darrell Hughes.
The airline states that it is investing $800 million in Sweden.
At the same time, Ryanair is using the announcement to once again argue for lower costs for airlines operating in Sweden. The company refers to the abolition of the aviation tax in July 2025 and believes that further cost reductions are needed for Sweden to be competitive.
Ryanair's group goal is to reach 300 million passengers per year by 2034.
The collective agreement applies from September 1, 2026 and includes Ryanair cabin crew at the base at Stockholm Arlanda.
