Nearly 1.5 million passengers flew with SAS in December. This was an increase of 50 percent compared to the same month the previous year but a decrease compared to November.

”"The positive trend observed during the autumn continued," says SAS CEO Anko van der Werff about the traffic figures for December published on Tuesday.

A total of 1.47 million passengers flew with the company, which was an increase of 50 percent compared to December 2021. However, compared to November 2022, the number decreased by 7 percent.

”We are now concentrating on increasing capacity ahead of the expected busy summer season. During the month, we released our expanded summer program, with 20 new routes and more than 5,000 flights per week to more than 100 destinations,” says Anko van der Werff.

The CEO has previously announced that SAS will begin raising SEK 9.5 billion from investors at the end of January as part of the company's rescue plan.
