Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been named ”World’s Best Airline” at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards. This is the fifth time Singapore Airlines has won the prestigious award.
SIA has been recognised in four categories at this year’s Skytrax Awards. In addition to being named ”World’s Best Airline”, SIA has also received awards in the categories of ”Best First Class Airline”, ”Best First Class Amenities” and ”Best Airline in Asia”. SIA’s subsidiary Scoot was named ”Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline” and also came second in the ”World’s Best Low-Cost Airline” category.
The Skytrax Awards are based on ratings from more than 20 million travelers. Travelers represent more than 100 different nationalities and have rated more than 325 airlines between September 2022 and May 2023.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong accepted the ”World's Best Airline” award in Paris on June 20, 2023.
”This award is a testament to the spirit and commitment of our employees. They have worked hard to ensure that SIA is ready to meet demand and serve our customers as the travel industry recovers from the pandemic. These efforts have enabled us to emerge stronger and better from the pandemic as the leading international airline,” said Goh Choon Phong.
In the Nordics, where Singapore Airlines flies five times a week from Copenhagen to Singapore, the award is a source of joy and pride:
”We are both humbled and proud to have been awarded the title of ’World’s Best Airline’ by Skytrax. The award confirms our position as the preferred airline among travelers also in the Nordics, and it encourages us to continue to serve our passengers at the highest level. We will continue to innovate and invest in products and services that ensure a world-class travel experience for our customers,” said Muhammad Raimi, General Manager, Singapore Airlines Nordics.
