In 2027, 2.4 million Swedish passports will become invalid. The police warn that there could be long waiting times if many people want to renew their passports at the same time.
– If your passport expires in the first half of 2027, I recommend that you apply for a new passport in the coming months, to avoid queuing later, says Gerd Stanford, regional coordinator for travel documents in the Bergslagen police region, in a press release.
