In 2022, 24 talents were selected by Scandic's group management to undergo the internal leadership program, Talent@Scandic. After seven intensive months together with industry representatives, mentors and leadership developers, the talents have now graduated and are ready to take on a leadership role within the company.

Talent@Scandic aims to develop future leaders within the hotel group with a focus on the business world and commercial leadership. The foundation is the company's strategy and future direction. During the program, the talents have been trained in commercial, leadership and operational development as well as project management and financial understanding. The talents have now taken the final step to take the next step towards new leadership roles within Scandic.

– Educating and securing future leaders has always been important to Scandic. Together with the group management, leadership developers and key people within the company, we have been following our talents with excitement and I am proud that we continue to invest heavily in skills development. I look forward to meeting our new leaders in different parts of the organization for many years to come, says Jens Mathiesen, President & CEO of Scandic Hotels Group.

– Now more than ever, it is important to develop the skills of our employees to ensure a continued skilled organization over time. This year, the participants were therefore matched with mentors from across the Scandic organization, which has created a broader understanding of the company, the hospitality industry and personal leadership development. It feels fantastic that 24 industry talents are now taking another step in their Scandic careers, says Maud Samuelsson, Group HR Manager and responsible for leadership development at Scandic Hotels Group.

The Talent@Scandic leadership program is based on Scandic's leadership compass and the building blocks Empower, Build trust, Inspire and Collaborate, the basic principles of the company's leadership development. As part of the program, participants work on development projects, within the framework of Scandic's long-term strategy, which are then presented to the company's group management. The ambition is that one or more of the projects can be implemented in the organization and contribute to Scandic's continued work in various areas.

– When we develop and take care of our employees, synergies and efficiency arise that drive us forward. We have a fantastic number of talented and ambitious leaders throughout our company. Taking advantage of their different perspectives and ideas creates new energy and is completely in line with how we work with trust and responsibility as part of our leadership, concludes Jens Mathiesen.
