
Finnair has canceled the majority of its flights. Buses are expected to be grounded. Kindergartens will be closed and Finns cannot expect to receive their mail on time. Ships will be left in ports without unloading their goods. Roads may be unplowed.
Grocery stores and restaurants will also be affected when several Finnish unions go on a general strike on Thursday and Friday. According to Swedish Yle Large parts of society will be affected when around 300,000 people are taken out on strike.
The general strike is a protest against a series of proposed laws. Among other things, the Finnish government wants to change the right to strike in various ways and make changes to labor law. The strike is expected to end on Saturday morning.
