Two high-speed trains have derailed in Adamuz in southern Spain, Reuters reports.

At least five people have died and an unknown number are injured and trapped, write El País One of the trains derailed first, which blocked the adjacent track and caused another train to derail.

One of the trains is said to have had 300 people on board. Passengers on both trains have been evacuated, according to El País.

Video footage shows people climbing out of train windows.

The high-speed train service between Madrid and Andalusia has been suspended due to the incident.
