An 82-year-old man has died after a fight over a sun lounger on a beach outside Athens, Greece.

The man was at the popular seaside resort of Vouliagmeni south of the capital with his wife on Sunday morning when he started arguing with a 76-year-old man about the lack of sun loungers, writes The Guardian.

The argument escalated into a fight and, according to Greek ERT, other people also got involved.

The 82-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he later died. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.

The 76-year-old man has been arrested and Greek police are investigating the incident.
