A downed overhead contact line in Sundbyberg led to around 80 passengers being forced to remain on an SJ train for approximately two hours.
The live wire was hanging next to the train, but at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, passengers were able to leave the train safely.
A commuter train that was behind the SJ train also had to be evacuated. The stop delayed about ten trains on the Stockholm-Hallsberg and Stockholm-Västerås routes.
– Some trains have also been diverted via Södertälje, and some passengers have travelled on replacement buses, says Ann-Katrin Backlund at SJ's press service.
Traffic was able to resume on one of the double tracks at around 8:30 p.m.
