Easyjet announces that newly appointed CEO Johan Lundgren has voluntarily agreed to reduce his salary to match that of his predecessor, Carolyn McCall.
”At easyJet, we are fully committed to equal pay and equal opportunities for women and men. I want this to be the case for everyone at easyJet, and to show my personal commitment, I have asked the Board to reduce my salary to match Carolyn’s when she was at easyJet, says Johan Lundgren in a statement.
Swedish Lundgren, who previously worked for the travel giant TUI, also says that Easyjet has come further than other airlines when it comes to attracting female pilots. The company has a goal by 2020 to reach a share of 20 percent female pilots.
Initially, Johan Lundgren received an annual salary of £740,000, which will now be reduced to £706,000. Other aspects of the remuneration package are identical to what Carolyn McCall had.
