A harsh winter has eaten into SJ's quarterly profit and many trains were delayed.
The state-owned train operator's operating profit fell to SEK 52 million, from SEK 144 million in the same period last year.
Punctuality for SJ's long-distance trains fell from 86 to 76 percent during the quarter.
”"Together with our maintenance suppliers, we have worked intensively to get more trains into service and we now see that we have the most difficult situation behind us," writes SJ CEO Crister Fritzson in a press release.
Revenues were stable during the quarter and remained stagnant at nearly SEK 1.9 billion.
