There have been major delays in train traffic between Gothenburg and Stockholm on Thursday evening.
A catenary fault has caused the train to take a different route and all passengers who have traveled from Alingsås have had to take a replacement bus.
The problems started between 5:30 and 6:00 pm on Thursday evening.
– This is due to a suspected fault in a contact line, we have had repairmen on site for a few hours, said Therese Strömberg at the Swedish Transport Administration's press service at around 9:30 p.m.
The error occurred between Floda and Noresund, where trains between Gothenburg and Stockholm pass.
During the evening, trains have taken a different route between Gothenburg and Herrljunga, which has led to delays and longer travel times.
Those traveling from Alingsås needed to take a replacement bus.
Two commuter trains were stopped on the route. One train was evacuated earlier in the evening, while the other had passengers remaining on the train from 5:30 p.m. to around 10:15 p.m.
– They were evacuated by bus, says Lena Johansson at Västtrafik's press service.
At 10:35 p.m. the problem was solved and train traffic on the route resumed, the Swedish Transport Administration said.
