Expect outdoor egg hunts this year. Just in time for Maundy Thursday, the mercury will rise to 15 degrees.
– It is absolutely a promising Easter forecast, says Mikael Sjöstrand, meteorologist at Foreca.
First it was a flat grey, then a few weeks of tempting sun and spring feelings and now it's bitterly cold and snow-mixed rain again. Lately the weather has played several tricks on all the spring-loving Swedes, and Foreca-the meteorologist explains why it has suddenly turned back again.
Letterpress brightens up Easter
– At the beginning of the week we had low pressure from the east that brought cold air over the country. On Tuesday night, it was below freezing in almost the entire country except for the coastal stations in the south. But that is normal, at least on some nights in conjunction with clear weather, even in early April.
Today, however, the low pressure is moving away and it will be sunny in most places, albeit with continued modest temperatures this week.
On Monday we can finally welcome high pressure from the west that looks like it could brighten up the Easter weekend for almost the entire country.
– A fairly powerful high pressure is growing in from the west. It has been circulating over the Norwegian Sea and moving into the country these days. Next week, when it has been there for a while, it will be warmer, says Mikael Sjöstrand.

And ahead of the Easter weekend, there is only positive news for everyone who was hoping for outdoor activities such as egg hunts and garden premieres.
– It looks like heat is coming in all over the country, 15 degrees in the south and 10 further north.
Can we forget about cold snaps after this or is there a risk of more shock?
– It's kind of funny how you forget the setbacks completely as soon as you feel a little spring, says the meteorologist, who makes no promises.
The famous Walpurgisday then?
– It's not very far until Valborg. Sure, cold air may come again, but the further into spring we get, the more warm air in the system and the stronger the sun. But you can't rule out more cold. Unfortunately.
