The pressure is on to get a vaccine passport. In just one day, over half a million Swedes have downloaded their Covid certificate to be able to move freely within the EU.

However, for those who are not yet fully vaccinated, different entry rules still apply.

On July 1, the vaccine passport, or Covid certificate as it is officially called, became available for all Swedes to download via the Swedish E-Health Agency's website. Around 545,000 certificates were downloaded in the first 24 hours, which is more than the agency had expected.

"Yes, it's a very high number, we probably didn't expect so many," says Jenny Hellgren, press officer at the Swedish E-Health Agency.

The agency advises those who are not going to travel immediately to wait to download their Covid certificate to reduce the pressure. Some errors have been reported where a number have not had both of their syringes registered.

”"In some cases, seven days have not passed and then the second syringe has not been registered. In other cases, enough time has passed but both doses are still not visible," says Jenny Hellgren.

The Stockholm Region has A technical error in the file transfer has been identified and similar errors are being investigated in other regions. The missing vaccine doses will be entered into the national vaccination registry as soon as possible starting this weekend, according to the authority.

”"If you are missing a vaccine dose in your Covid certificate, there may be a delay in the transfer of files between the regions and the national vaccination register. Try downloading the certificate again after the weekend," says Annemieke Ålenius, head of department at the Swedish E-Health Agency.

Currently, only the type of vaccine received is visible on the certificate – but from mid-July information about negative test results will also be available, and from August 12, registered information will also be visible if you have recovered from Covid-19.
