It will now be easier for Swedes to travel to Thailand, as of May 1st, Thailand removed testing requirements before departure and upon arrival for vaccinated visitors, the Thai Tourist Office announced.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has announced that Thailand will abolish its so-called Test & Go and Sandbox systems from 1 May, making it easier for tourists to enter the country. Vaccinated travellers can enter Thailand without a test. Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated travellers, who have submitted a negative PCR test within 72 hours before departure, can enter Thailand under the same conditions as fully vaccinated travellers. The national registration system, The Thailand Pass, will remain in a more simplified version than before. TUI welcomes the positive news.

Thailand easing entry restrictions is something that we and our customers have been waiting for. Thailand is one of the Swedes' favorite travel destinations, especially during the winter months. We believe that this news will lead to many booking their trip for next winter already now. Says Adam Györki, Head of Communications at TUI.
