A new factory for electric aircraft will be built in Gothenburg, the company Heart Aerospace announces.
The company will build electric passenger aircraft, the ES-30, which can carry up to 30 passengers.
Today, 130 employees work on development, but in three years they are expected to be 500. That number could eventually double, according to the company.
The factory will be located in Säve outside Gothenburg.
”"We have a plan and it's not just to build a new electric aircraft, but a whole new industry," writes Heart Aerospace founder Anders Forslund in a press release.
He calls the project Northern Runway.
”"Sweden is the country of origin of the flight shame and the anti-flight movement. But with Northern Runway we will make electric flight travel a reality and preserve the possibility of flying for future generations.".
