The airline SAS has reached an agreement with another lessor, which accounts for three aircraft, to change the terms of existing lease agreements for aircraft and equipment.
In early November, SAS announced that the company had reached agreements with two additional lessors, after announcing on October 5 that the company had reached agreements with a total of ten lessors. SAS now has agreements with 13 lessors, accounting for a total of 46 aircraft.
The company describes the agreements as important steps in the work to reconfigure the aircraft fleet and achieve the SEK 7.5 billion in annual cost savings that are part of the SAS Forward plan.
The new amended lease agreements require approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in the United States and for the Chapter 11 reorganization plan to become effective.
