Ski tourism company Skistar will open in Vemdalen on November 26 in what the company itself describes as a "sneak opening." This is stated in a press release.

The recent cold weather is said to have "provided good conditions for producing snow".

For Skistar's historically largest destination in terms of number of ski days, Sälen, information on the company's website shows that Lindvallen will open "as soon as we can offer good alpine skiing".

For other areas in Sälen, the opening is planned for December 9th, while Högfjället will also be open on weekends from December 2nd to 4th, according to the plans.

The mild autumn has opened up the latter part of the year when Skistar's slopes usually open. With the exception of a few years, most destinations have usually opened for skiing by the end of November. In some seasons, a Skistar destination has been able to open for skiing as early as the end of October, while at the other end of the range, there have been seasons when a destination has only been able to open in early December.

Skistar's snow guarantee for the 2022/2023 season starts from December 12, 2022 until the end of the season. The guarantee gives you the opportunity to rebook your trip or get your money back if the company cannot deliver the alpine ski product that Skistar promises.

The largest owner in Skistar is the Paulsson family's investment company Ekhaga Utveckling with 24 percent of the capital and 20 percent of the votes. Aeternum Capital, which is backed by Norwegian shipping billionaire John Fredriksen, is the second largest with 20 percent of the capital and 14 percent of the votes.

The stock has fallen by 33 percent so far this year, which means the company has a market capitalization of SEK 9 billion.
