Denmark's two leading camping chains become one. First Camp continues its growth journey and acquires the Danish camping chain CampOne. The deal takes over four destinations with a combined annual turnover of just under SEK 50 million.
First Camp already has nine destinations in Denmark under the First Camp brand, as well as Jesperhus Feriepark, one of Denmark's popular holiday destinations for families with children. Through the acquisition of CampOne, the business in Denmark grows with four new destinations. The ownership of the fifth CampOne destination, Assens Strand, remains with Per and Gitte Blaabjerg but under a new brand. CampOne will be owned by United Camping Campsite HoldCo AB, a sister company of First Camp Group AB, and the ownership is therefore outside the bond structure of First Camp Group AB.
”CampOne has well-maintained and popular destinations and we are very pleased that Per and Gitte have given us the trust to take over their life's work. They have done a fantastic job developing CampOne and we will do our best to nurture and continue to develop the destinations. As usual, our future development will be based on the views of our guests and in the summer of 2023 it will be 'business as usual' where the CampOne brand will be retained”", says First Camp's CEO Johan Söör.
Seller Gitte & Per Blaabjerg comments:
”"We have chosen to sell CampOne to the well-known Scandinavian camping chain First Camp. We chose First Camp to ensure that CampOne remains in financially strong hands, who have good opportunities and extensive experience to be able to further develop CampOne.".
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our many guests who have visited our campsites – some have even been with us since the beginning in 1992. Without you, this journey would never have been possible.”
Ola Bååth, Chief Investment Officer at First Camp, adds: ”"With the acquisition of CampOne comes a portfolio of well-invested destinations in very attractive locations. In the long term, we see great value in continuing to develop the CampOne destinations in the same spirit as the Blaabjerg family, with quality and guest satisfaction in focus."”
Access is expected at the end of March/beginning of April.
