Strikes and staff shortages combined with a high number of travelers have created chaos at several of Europe's airports this summer, reports Bloomberg News, citing a survey by the analysis company AirHelp.
The company has mapped disruptions to air traffic in the form of canceled flights and delays longer than 15 minutes at airports in Europe that had at least 5,000 flights during the month of June.
The worst situation is at Gatwick in London, where 54 percent of flights were delayed or canceled during the month, while Helsinki in Finland is in the best shape, with a corresponding figure of 18 percent.
Heathrow Airport, where 40 percent of flights were not running as scheduled, has in turn tried to limit the number of passengers by asking airlines to reduce ticket sales.
Stockholm Arlanda, on the other hand, comes in a better place in the ranking. Here, 30 percent of flights were affected by delays or cancellations, while the corresponding figure in Kastrup, Copenhagen was just over 50 percent.
